Cotton Slipping Lower on Thursday AM TradeCotton prices are trading with Thursday morning losses of 5 to 11 points. Futures posted weaker trade on Wednesday, with contracts down 44 to 52 points in the nearbys. The outside markets were pressure factors, as the US dollar index is up 174, with crude oil 43 cents/barrel lower. The Seam reported 17,636 bales of online sales on January 21 at an average price of 62.28 cents/lb. ICE cotton stocks were unchanged on Monday, at 218 bales of certified stocks. The Cotlook A Index was unchanged on 1/21 at 78.05 cents/lb. The USDA Adjusted World Price (AWP) was back down 68 points from the previous week on Thursday afternoon at 53.98 cents/lb. It will be updated later today.
